Mountain View Remodeling FAQs

How soon can you start, and what’s the typical timeline for a kitchen or bathroom in Mountain View?
Kitchen projects usually take about 8–14 weeks once construction begins; bathrooms run 4–10 weeks depending on scope. We can often schedule your kickoff within 2–5 weeks after design and permits are complete.
Do you pull the permits with the City of Mountain View, or is that on us?
We handle permits end-to-end: drawings, submittals, plan check responses, and inspections. We’ll keep you posted on timelines and any City comments so there are no surprises.
We work from home—how noisy and disruptive will this be during the day?
There will be periods of noise (demo, framing, tools). We set predictable work hours, isolate work zones, and give you a weekly schedule so you can plan calls. We can also coordinate quieter tasks during key meeting times when possible.
Can we live in the house during the remodel? What about a temporary kitchen or bathroom setup?
Often yes. For kitchens we can set up a temporary prep area; for bathrooms we phase work or keep another bath functional. We discuss a living-through-construction plan at kickoff tailored to your household.
What if costs change mid-project? How are change orders handled so we stay on budget?
Every change is documented in writing with price and schedule impact before work proceeds. You approve (or decline) each change order in our portal—no surprises. We also value-engineer options if something runs over.
Do you help with design and selecting finishes, or do we need to hire a separate designer?
We’re design-build. Our team creates plans/3D views and guides you through cabinets, tile, fixtures, lighting, and more. If you already have a designer, we’re happy to collaborate with them.
How do you protect our home—floors, furniture, pets, and kids—during construction?
We use dust barriers, floor protection, and air scrubbers when needed. Work areas are contained and secure, and we perform daily cleanup. We also set safety rules at kickoff tailored to children and pets.
Can we provide some materials ourselves (appliances, fixtures) to save money?
Yes—owner-supplied items are welcome. We’ll confirm specifications and delivery dates so they fit the schedule. Our labor is fully warranted; owner-supplied products carry their manufacturer warranties.
What kind of warranty and post-project support do you provide once we move back in?
You’ll receive a written workmanship warranty plus pass-through manufacturer warranties. If something needs a tune-up, just reach out—our service team will schedule a visit promptly.
How are payments structured, and do you offer financing or referrals to lenders?
We use milestone payments (design, permit, rough-in, finishes, final). If you’d like financing, we can introduce vetted lending partners, or you can use your bank/HELOC—whatever works best for you.
